Chapter 8: Scraping Together 50,000 Yuan: Will Sir Help Her?
Song Chi shook her head,
‘No. I can escape for a moment, but not forever. This matter must be completely resolved. Otherwise, she’ll never have peace again!’
Her eyes turned cold as she glared at Li Chengwei, holding her head high with pride.
“Li Chengwei, you’re the one coming to me for money. If you want me to lend it, show the proper attitude. Beg me, and I’ll consider it!”
“Song Chi, you b****, don’t go too far…”
“I’m going too far? Heh, you don’t have to beg, then don’t ask me for money!
Either way, it’s up to you!”
Li Chengwei was furious. This wretched woman—ever since she got married and moved out, she’d grown a spine!
He couldn’t bring himself to beg her, but if he didn’t, the loan sharks would chop off his hands and feet!
Face flushing red, he whispered like a mosquito,
“Song Chi, I’m begging you. Please help me…”
Song Chi sneered,
“This is your idea of begging?”
Li Chengwei glared at her hatefully, but gritting his teeth, he dropped to his knees and knocked his head on the ground.
“Song Chi, I beg you. Please help me!”
Song Chi scoffed,
“Now that is the proper way to ask for help!”
She pulled out her phone and turned on the voice recorder.
“Li Chengwei, after I give you this 50,000, our relationship is over. From now on, your debts have nothing to do with me. If you bother me again, I’ll call the police and sue you!”
Li Chengwei hesitated for a moment. However, several intimidating thugs were glaring at him with murderous looks. If he didn’t agree, his hands would be chopped off today!
He quickly said,
“Alright, I agree!”
Song Chi saved the recording with satisfaction. She looked at the thugs.
“Please keep an eye on him. I’ll go to the bank, it won’t take too long. Also, could you help look after my aunt for now? If she gets hurt again, that money won’t be coming!”
With that, she turned and walked away.
Once out of the crowd, her brows furrowed deeply with worry. She only had the 2,000 yuan her aunt gave her just now. Where was she going to find 50,000 yuan?
Suddenly, she thought of Mu Yin.
‘Sir… will he help me?’

At that moment, Mu Yin was in a meeting, a crucial one that could determine whether the Mu Group secured a contract worth billions.
It was of utmost importance, so he had left his phone in his office.
His assistant, Ye Xiu, quietly came in and whispered in his ear,
“President Mu, there’s an issue with Madam.”
Mu Yin frowned.
“President Mu, Madam has been exposed online!”
Mu Yin: “???”
Ye Xiu handed him the phone to scroll through. After a quick look, Mu Yin understood the gist.
Though he didn’t know Song Chi well, he knew her “uncle” all too clearly. It was obvious the man was framing her.
And now, she was pregnant. Being exposed online was terrifying… many have taken their lives because of it.
These people were bullying his wife, clearly they were tired of living!
He gave a quiet order,
“Clean it up. If anyone keeps slandering her, send legal letters to all of them!”
“Yes, President Mu.”

Meanwhile, Song Chi was thinking: Although Mu Yin had given her a bank card, without his permission, she couldn’t use it.
She tried to call him, but he didn’t answer. Her heart sank. She had to find another way.
She searched through her contacts and finally stopped at her best friend Luo Tiantian’s number.
Back in the day, their dream had been to get into their dream university together. And they both succeeded, but her admission letter was torn to shreds…
Now, Luo Tiantian was a sophomore in college. And she… had been thrown into the harsh world.
Her heart felt sour and conflicted. Her hand trembled slightly and she accidentally dialed the number.
Her heart skipped a beat. Just as she was about to hang up, the call connected.
“Xiao Chi! I was just thinking of you and you called! We’re totally in sync! I have great news—I’m about to go on break. We’ll finally be able to meet soon!”
Luo Tiantian spoke with a youthful, dreamy tone, full of excitement.
Song Chi looked at herself, disheveled and a mess. Instantly, she felt inferior.
“Xiao Chi? Why aren’t you saying anything?”
Song Chi braced herself and slowly said,
“Tiantian… can I borrow 50,000 yuan…?”
As soon as she finished, her face flushed with shame.
There was a pause on the other end.
“Xiao Chi! I’m a rich girl now. You’re asking the right person!”
Even though their situations were now miles apart, they had been close friends for years. Through all her hardship, she had never once asked her for money.
This was the first time and Luo Tiantian didn’t even ask why. She just agreed.
That respect alone meant everything.
“Tiantian, thank you.”
“We’re sisters! No need to be polite with me.”
“When I’m back, come with me to a gala, okay?”
“My parents are forcing me to go, but I’m super socially anxious.”
“They said President Mu of the Mu Group will be there. So many rich heiresses are dying to marry him…”
“You’re so pretty. If you come with me, maybe he’ll notice you and marry you into a rich family. Then you can finally get rid of that awful uncle for good…”
Song Chi smiled helplessly,
“Tiantian, I’ll go with you. But… I’m already married.”
