Chapter 21: Kissing His Wife Is Only Natural!
Song Chi’s gaze fell somewhere it definitely shouldn’t have—and in that instant, her mind exploded and her face flushed a bright red.
Mu Yin followed her line of sight downward…
He raised a brow, giving her a wicked smile, and lightly flicked her forehead.
“Mrs. Mu, where are you looking, hmm?”
His voice was low and magnetic—far too tempting.
Flustered, Song Chi quickly covered her eyes and stammered,
“S-sorry, I didn’t mean to…”
Mu Yin deliberately leaned closer, his warm breath brushing against her ear, her most sensitive spot. In an instant, her entire body jolted like she’d been shocked—tingly, numb, and stiff all over.
“Mrs. Mu,” he whispered, “there’s no need to be shy. After all, last time, you didn’t just look, you even…”
Song Chi immediately shut down the memory of that wild night.
She hurriedly changed the subject, “Sir! Please, stop—let’s just go home, okay?”
Mu Yin, knowing she was thin-skinned, decided to let her off the hook.
With a grin, he said, “Alright.”
He started the tricycle and drove toward the apartment.
On the way, Song Chi turned her head away and didn’t dare look at him the entire ride.
Once they arrived, she kept her head down and mumbled, “Sir, rest early. Good night.”
Then she bolted into the house like a guilty child, making him want to laugh and feel a little sorry for her all at once.
Mu Yin smiled and said softly, “Good night.”
Song Chi entered her room, and the moment the door shut, she exploded—wildly ruffling her hair until her once-neat style became a bird’s nest. She silently screamed, rolled on the bed, kicked the covers, bit the blanket, and covered her blushing face.
She looked absolutely ridiculous.
Who knew how long it took before she finally stopped, panting hard, calming down.
Lying flat on her back, her fingers gently brushed her lips, as if Mu Yin’s kiss still lingered there.
She tried to suppress the strange fluttering in her heart, murmuring to herself: “Why did Uncle kiss me…? Could it be… he likes me? No way, we barely know each other! Maybe… it was just a man’s normal impulse…”
That explanation made the most sense—logically.
But for some reason, her heart felt tight, stuffy. Like something was pulling at her from the inside. It left her in a low mood.
Unable to make sense of it, she yanked the blanket over her head and tried to sleep it all away and forget this unfamiliar feeling.

Meanwhile, in the next room, Mu Yin was just as confused.
For the first time in his life, he muttered to himself: “Why did I suddenly kiss her…”
His thumb brushed against his lips, recalling the sweet softness of that kiss—so addicting, he’d even wanted to go further…
“Am I insane?”
He was known for being stoic, abstinent even! There’d been women who stripped naked in front of him and he hadn’t batted an eye.
But this Song Chi… with her shy and sweet quirks… was making him feel things.
Was he… falling for her?
Mu Yin doubted it. He really didn’t understand himself right now.
Just then, his phone rang. It was Ye Xiu.
He picked up. “Speak.”
“President Mu, as per your instructions, we’ve already filed charges against that Li-jie woman who harassed your wife. She’ll receive the court summons soon.”
Earlier at the night market, Song Chi had been bullied, and Mu Yin had immediately told Ye Xiu to file a lawsuit—as a warning. But who knew Li-jie would stir up more trouble, even smashing their stall. She was asking for it.
Mu Yin’s expression darkened. His voice turned ice cold.
“She brought people to harass my wife. Just putting her in a holding cell is too kind. Cancel the lawsuit—find her a trashy man and marry her off.”
“And those men who trashed the stall, make sure they stay behind bars for life.”
Ye Xiu responded immediately, “Understood, President Mu. I’ll handle it right away!”
Just as he was about to hang up, Mu Yin suddenly said, “Wait.”
“Boss Mu? Anything else?”
Mu Yin hesitated a second, then said, “…This is a personal question.”
“Of course, go ahead.”
“Ehem, I have a friend. He’s… emotionally reserved. He and his wife barely knew each other when they got married, and there’s no strong emotional connection. But they get along okay. Then recently… he couldn’t resist kissing her. Now he’s confused. Doesn’t know why he did that. What do you think is going on?”
Ye Xiu: “…”
That friend is clearly you, Boss.
Trying not to laugh, he replied, “President Mu, it’s completely normal—kissing your wife is legal, reasonable, and natural. What’s to be confused about? Maybe your friend has been single too long and wants to fall in love.”
He added playfully, “Since your friend’s already married, he might as well fall in love with his wife.”
Then after a pause, “Also, Boss Mu, your friend clearly lacks experience in romance. He should take notes from the Chairman—he dotes on his wife so much he turns into jelly around her. Buy her clothes, shoes, bags—just keep spoiling her, and eventually he’ll win her heart. That’s how you live a *happy* life.”
He put extra emphasis on the word happy.
Mu Yin: “…”
A happy life?
Spoiling her?
Mu Yin rubbed his temples. Why was this starting to sound off?
Wait a second… was Ye Xiu talking about him??
His tone turned stern. “Ye Xiu, remember—this is about my friend. Not me.”
That last “not me” was sharp and full of warning.
Ye Xiu, now on edge, replied quickly, “Understood, President Mu! Hanging up now!”
“Wait.”
“…Still something else?”
Mu Yin thought for a moment. While he didn’t fully understand his feelings toward Song Chi, Ye Xiu wasn’t wrong.
Kissing his wife was completely justified.
So… maybe he should treat her better?
He gave his order in a commanding tone:
“Contact my personal designer. Have them send a full set of this season’s women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories tomorrow. I want top-tier, limited edition styles. The fabric must be the best quality.”
“And—have someone go abroad and bring back premium pregnancy skincare products.”
“…Boss Mu, this sudden generosity… truly, you’re a man who can be taught!”
Mu Yin quickly clarified, “That situation earlier was about my friend. Me buying gifts for my wife is my business. Don’t mix the two!”
Ye Xiu: “…”
Tch, does he think I’m stupid?
He could see it now: the cold and aloof President Mu was secretly sweet and so tsundere.
Of course, he didn’t dare say that out loud.
“Yes, Boss Mu. I’ll arrange everything immediately!”
They finally hung up.
Mu Yin didn’t bother analyzing why he kissed her anymore. After washing up, he went to bed.

In the middle of the night, he got up for a drink and passed by Song Chi’s door. Out of instinct, he gently pushed it open.
She was fast asleep with the blanket over her head.
He panicked. She was pregnant, how could she sleep like that?
Quietly, he pulled the blanket down and tucked her in properly. Looking at her peaceful sleeping face, he couldn’t help but smile.
Softly, he murmured: “Good night, Chi Chi.”

The next morning
Song Chi woke up early.
She had fallen asleep with the blanket over her head, but woke up tucked in perfectly. She had no idea Mu Yin had quietly fixed it for her.
She got up to make breakfast… only to find Mu Yin was already awake.
He was sitting on the sofa, sipping milk and reading the paper—his entire presence exuding calm, elegant sophistication.
Song Chi: “…”
Her heart rippled ever so slightly.
“Sir, good morning. You’re up so early?”
Mu Yin looked over at her, his gaze gentle.
“Good morning, Chi Chi.”
“I’m used to waking early. Go freshen up and have breakfast. We’re going to the hospital for your prenatal checkup today.”
