AFMIHT Chapter 12

Chapter 12: Crisis! Her Stall Gets Smashed.

“Li Chengwei, are you insane?!”

His words made Song Chi feel utterly disgusted—so nauseated she wanted to throw up.

With an icy gaze, she pushed him away. “Did you forget the last warning? There’s nothing between us anymore. If you keep harassing me, I will call the police!”

“Song Chi, after all the years I fed you, you think you can just cut me off with a measly fifty thousand? Dream on!”

Song Chi laughed angrily. She had expected he would deny it all.

Their quarrel quickly drew the attention of nearby onlookers. People started whispering and pointing.

Song Chi lowered her voice and growled, “Li Chengwei, get lost, or I really will call the police!”

Li Chengwei’s eyes flickered slyly. Suddenly, he flopped to the ground and began bawling loudly.

“Waaah, someone help me get justice! I raised this niece for years, fed and clothed her, and now I just ask her for a little money—only a hundred or so—and she accuses me of harassment…”

“Don’t be fooled by her innocent face! She’s actually super promiscuous—I bet she’s been with tons of guys…”

His shouting drew a crowd.

The surrounding people started murmuring:

“Wow, never expected that. She looks so clean and proper… won’t even give her uncle a hundred bucks? I’m never buying from her again!”

Other vendors chimed in too:

“This stall’s in a prime location. The management specifically said no one’s allowed to set up here today.”

“I thought some official was coming to inspect the place!”

“And this newbie shows up, taking the best spot like it’s nothing. Guess she’s got connections upstairs, huh?”

“Ugh, disgusting!”

Insults and contemptuous stares flooded in from all sides.

Song Chi glared coldly at Li Chengwei. “Do you know how long the sentence is for slander?”

“I’m calling the police right now. Let’s see what they say, whether I’m the one with no morals, or you’re the one spouting garbage.”

She began dialing.

Li Chengwei panicked and started writhing on the ground, clutching his stomach.

“Ow ow ow, my stomach… She hit me just now, I swear…”

Song Chi was speechless. He was the absolute king of playing the victim.

A few onlookers, not understanding the full situation, got riled up and started throwing water bottles at her stall.

“Stop bullying people!”

“Smash her stuff!”

People began throwing whatever they had at Song Chi and her stall.

She tried dodging and protecting her merchandise at the same time, but within moments, her carefully arranged stall was a wreck.

She didn’t care what strangers said, but her heart ached seeing her hard work smashed to pieces.

She kept shielding the stall and herself as best she could.

But someone, caught up in the hysteria, rushed forward, shouting about destroying everything.

“Don’t touch my products!” Song Chi shouted.

“You b*tch, you think you’re worthy of selling here? I’ll beat you to death!”

A fist flew toward her. Instinctively, she covered her belly and stepped back…

Suddenly, Mu Yin burst into the scene, grabbing the attacker’s wrist.

He growled coldly, “Get lost.”

A chilling aura radiated off him, frightening the attacker into scrambling away.

Seeing Mu Yin appear, Song Chi suddenly felt safe.

Just then, the market managers and a few police officers arrived, dispersing the crowd.

Mu Yin examined Song Chi carefully. “Are you okay?”

She shook her head. “I’m fine.”

Then her icy gaze turned to Li Chengwei. “This time, you slandered me in front of everyone, and the evidence is undeniable. Let’s see how you try to deny it now.”

She pointed to a surveillance camera nearby. “It’s all on tape. Don’t expect me to settle at the police station. Get ready to be detained.”

“You—!”

Before Li Chengwei could finish cursing, the police took him away.

Once he was gone, the air instantly felt cleaner.

Song Chi looked at her destroyed stall, her painstaking work shattered, and her heart bled.

Such a rough first outing…

Mu Yin frowned slightly. “The stall’s this badly trashed?”

Tears welled up in Song Chi’s eyes, but she tilted her head back to hold them in.

She forced a smile at him. “It’s okay, I can still salvage this. I’m not going to let one setback defeat me. I’ll bounce back stronger!”

She even made a little fist-pumping gesture.

Mu Yin: “…”

He couldn’t help but stare at her, deeply drawn to her determination.

He hadn’t expected someone so young to be so resilient.

A glint of admiration and amazement flickered in his eyes, and a subtle smile tugged at his lips.

Song Chi continued, “Sir, there’s no way we can keep selling tonight. Let’s pack up and go home. We’ll come back tomorrow.”

“Okay.”

The two of them packed up and left the market.

What they didn’t know was that the other vendors were still watching them, secretly imagining an absurd soap opera of marriage drama and cheating scandals.

On the way home, Song Chi seemed to be thinking hard.

“Sir, I was just wondering… Why was such a good stall left empty? Turns out the management forbade setting up there. Who has the pull to reserve a spot like that and just leave it unused—only for me to pick it up?”
