Chapter 1: I Had a Flash Marriage with a Thirty-Year-Old Uncle.
In front of the Civil Affairs Bureau.
“Are you of legal age? I don’t want to commit a crime!”
Summoning her courage, Song Chi had decided to marry herself off.
But the marriage partner’s question left her a bit speechless.
She just had a baby face, but she wasn’t actually that young.
“I just turned twenty yesterday.”
Mu Yin asked politely, “I’m thirty. Do you mind?”
Song Chi shook her head. She had no choice.
Mu Yin paused, then threw out another question:
“Sexual compatibility is essential in marriage. How was your last experience?”
Song Chi’s mind went blank with a buzzing sound.
Last time… her uncle had set her up, and caused her to…
By sheer accident, she’d ended up with the man standing in front of her now.
She had never dared to think about it. Now, being asked so suddenly, the memory of that entire night’s trembling came rushing back, shaking her soul.
A burning heat surged to her face, and she felt like she was about to explode.
“I… I… I…”
Mu Yin looked at her beet-red face—she looked exactly like she had that night, softly crying beneath him.
Mu Yin smirked, a bit proud. “Seems like the experience wasn’t bad. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have come looking for me again.”
Song Chi was on the verge of losing it.
She deeply regretted choosing him.
If she had known, she would have rather fought to the death with that old and ugly Director Wang.
Anything was better than being humiliated like this!
Song Chi took a deep breath and pulled something out of her pocket.
“Two lines. I’m pregnant. It’s yours.”
This time, it was Mu Yin’s turn to break.
Song Chi looked at his face go from calm to stiff, and inside, she felt a secret satisfaction, as if she’d just won a battle.
Straightening her back, she lifted her chin.
She wasn’t going to die of embarrassment alone.
“Since you’re the father of the child, I wanted to ask for your opinion. Do you want it or not?”
Mu Yin’s face stiffened as he stared at the two lines on the pregnancy test, then glanced up at the big “Civil Affairs” sign above the building.
Afraid he might reject her, Song Chi quickly added,
“If you want the child too, don’t worry about money. I’m young, but I can work and earn a living. I won’t touch your premarital assets. We can split the child-rearing expenses fifty-fifty. I just want you to be with me when I give birth. After the baby is born and registered, if you want a divorce, I won’t object.”
Fifty-fifty? Divorce?
So independent?
Mu Yin was a bit surprised.
He thought this woman was after his money. He never expected she was only after… his sperm.
Mu Yin found it funny. The high-and-mighty President Mu had somehow ended up in a “keep the baby, ditch the dad” scenario.
Suddenly, he found himself more interested in this woman.
Ten minutes later, Song Chi walked out of the Civil Affairs Bureau with a marriage certificate in hand.
She tried to keep a calm expression, but inside she was thrilled.
She’d found a father for her child and avoided being forced to marry a creepy pervert. Two major problems solved.
Mu Yin turned his head and looked at the young woman trying hard not to smile. He couldn’t help but feel amused too.
“I’m not someone who shirks responsibility. Next time you decide something, don’t ask for my opinion.”
“What do you mean, ask for your opinion?” If she really cared about his opinion, she would’ve made an appointment with the hospital, not the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Exposed, Song Chi was briefly embarrassed but quickly recovered.
“Thanks. Now that we’re married, can I stay at your place? A bed is enough.”
She just wanted to get away from that house.
Mu Yin nodded.”Of course. Where do you live? I’ve got time, I can help you move.”
Half an hour later, Mu Yin parked in front of an old residential complex.
Song Chi unbuckled her seatbelt.
“Wait here, I’ll pack quickly.”
Mu Yin glanced at the worn-out entrance and suddenly really wanted to see where this woman lived.
“I’ll go up with you.”
Song Chi waved her hands frantically, “No, no need! I don’t have much stuff. I’ll be down soon!”
Before Mu Yin could say anything else, Song Chi bolted from the car like she was fleeing.
She didn’t want him to see her family. That was the last shred of her dignity.
At the door to her apartment, Song Chi took a deep breath and unlocked it.
Just as she opened the door, she heard her uncle, Li Chengwei, inside, sounding overly eager:
“Don’t worry, Director Wang. Song Chi’s more than happy to marry you. As soon as she gets back, we’ll go register the marriage.”
Director Wang, a greasy man with layers of fat on his face, trembled as he spoke,
“No rush on the certificate. Let me have a taste first!”
