With the wall broken and acquiring Elemental Sword, the quest mission was completed.
Zeke could feel that he had broken through the wall and reached the level of a Red Knight.
Seeing Zeke, Kaisir nodded with crossed arms.
“Yes, that’s the minimum level needed to be called my successor. Though still far from enough.”
Zeke asked Kaisir.
“Are there no advanced techniques for the Elemental Sword? I’d like to learn ultimate moves or finishing moves if there are any.”
“Foolish one. When properly wielded, it creates storms and splits the earth – why would you need ultimate moves? Only those lacking skill seek finishing moves and ultimate techniques.”
As expected, Kaisir lived for his own pride.
Still, given Kaisir’s abilities, his words were somewhat understandable.
“What will happen to Your Majesty now?”
“Having passed on the Elemental Sword, I must return to the spirit realm.”
“Is it impossible to return to the material world from the spirit realm?”
“If powerful spirits like me descend indiscriminately, the world’s laws would collapse. Karma won’t allow it.”
Zeke was surprised by Kaisir’s words.
“Did you say Karma? What does that mean…?”
At that moment, Kaisir’s body began turning transparent.
“I’m leaving now. Don’t foolishly get beaten up somewhere. Convey my achievements well to the people of the world.”
Kaisir was the same coming and going, only saying what he wanted to say.
Soon Kaisir became completely invisible, and simultaneously, the sky-blue jewel on the platform completely lost its light.
‘What a personality… I wonder how he ever managed to get along with the elves.’
After Kaisir left, Zeke went to his room and packed all the items he could take into his inventory.
Then he was able to open the door of the ruins after several months.
He wanted to test his new power against Hydra, but the creature was nowhere to be seen.
Promising next time, Zeke turned on the mini-map to descend the mountain from the ruins.
That’s when a new map function was activated.
[New function activated – Portal travel is now possible]
[Places where portal movement is possible among locations the administrator has visited are marked on the map]
‘Portal travel is possible?’
Zeke checked the map.
Areas where portal travel was possible among the places he had visited were marked with a sparkle.
He checked the portal-accessible areas in Argos.
[Points deducted for portal use: 150]
Clicking on various destination areas, it seemed the deducted points varied depending on travel distance.
Since Hounds were roaming the Giant Mountains and he was already late for his scheduled arrival at Valhalla, Zeke decided to use points for portal travel.
[Moving to designated area]
[Portal activating]
Suddenly his vision rippled and he felt dizzy.
The characteristic portal nausea swept through his entire body.
When Zeke lifted his head, he was already near the old ruins of Argos.
‘Good heavens.’
Although points were consumed, this function seemed to allow free movement anywhere across the continent.
Zeke returned to his resort to prepare for his journey to Atlas.
The enrollment period for Valhalla had already passed by a month.
He hurriedly headed toward Atlas, the largest city in the Central Continent and the center of centers in Midland.
***
“In my ten years at Valhalla, this is the first time I’ve seen such a case.”
The elderly knight in a suit looked at Zeke with a stern expression.
He was Flaubert Borges, the Principal of Valhalla, a place every knight aspired to enter.
Flaubert was elected as Valhalla’s principal despite not being from the Draker family.
He was so respected across the continent that there wasn’t any controversy when he became principal.
As the longest-serving captain of the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Thebea, he was renowned for both his skills and reputation.
The story of Arthur Draker visiting him three times to request he become Valhalla’s principal is still talked about today.
Thanks to Flaubert becoming Principal, Valhalla’s reputation grew even more.
Flaubert, known as an outstanding knight and principled man, alternated between looking at the recommendation letter before him and Zeke standing there.
“So why are you late? Surely you knew the semester starts in March.”
Since Zeke couldn’t say he was caught training with the Hero King at the ruins, he slightly modified his story.
“I went to Argos for isolated training and got so absorbed that I lost track of time.”
Hearing this, Flaubert shot Zeke a sharp look.
“Are you saying that isolated training was more valuable than a month at Valhalla?”
“That’s not what I meant. I just lost track of time while focusing on finding my path of the sword.”
“Hmm…”
While Flaubert was principled, he wasn’t inflexibly rigid.
As an outstanding knight himself, he could understand to some extent what Zeke was saying.
Flaubert nodded and said.
“While your point has some merit, Valhalla has its own rules.”
He said to Zeke.
“I’ll judge based on the results of your training in Argos. If I determine it was more valuable than a month at Valhalla, I’ll allow your admission.”
“Are you asking me to demonstrate the results of my training?”
“Correct. Why, are you not confident?”
Zeke shook his head.
“Not at all. Shall we start right now?”
Flaubert shook his head and rang a bell.
Someone then entered the room.
“Find an empty training room and take Zeke Draker there. Also contact the full professors from each department and tell them to gather at the training room right now.”
Zeke followed the Principal’s secretary to the training room first.
Since he had never entered Valhalla even in his past life, the unfamiliar buildings felt fascinating.
“This way.”
The scale and facilities were too impressive to be called just an empty training room.
“As expected of Valhalla.”
While he was looking around examining various parts of the training room, Principal Flaubert soon arrived with other professors.
Each professor was a renowned knight on the continent.
As Zeke stood in the middle of the training ground, the Principal sitting in the observation seat said to Zeke with gleaming eyes.
“Show us the results of your training. The professors from each department will evaluate and make the final decision.”
Standing alone in the training ground, Zeke pondered the Principal’s words.
He couldn’t gauge what would satisfy that strict Principal.
‘I can’t show the Elemental Sword here. This is troubling.’
Zeke decided to demonstrate the Wind Storm Technique and Dragon Slaying Technique safely.
He took out Bahamut and assumed his stance.
The Principal and professors from each department watched Zeke with sharp eyes.
Their looks said
‘Let’s see what you can do.’
When Zeke concentrated his energy into Bahamut, the Aura Blade rose up.
Just as he was about to demonstrate the Wind Storm Technique.
“G-Good heavens!”
Someone exclaimed before he could do anything.
Zeke looked aside wondering what happened and saw all the professors looking at his Aura Blade with shocked expressions.
‘Oops.’
While with Hero King Kaisir, the Aura Blade was a basic technique and he was treated as a slow learner.
But returning to reality, he had become an unprecedented genius who created an Aura Blade at age fifteen.
Zeke tightly closed his eyes and blamed himself for his mistake.
What’s done cannot be undone.
He put away his aura blade and greeted politely.
“I am ashamed to show such poor skills before the Principal and distinguished professors.”
The professors were once again moved by his character as this pureblood awakened one who became a Blue Knight at fifteen showed such courtesy.
The Principal spoke in a much softer voice.
“It seems it was a month spent gaining valuable insight.”
“I apologize again for losing track of time as I struggled to grasp the elusive threads due to my dullness.”
The Principal, now seemingly in a completely better mood, smiled and said:
“Ha ha, if you’re dull, what does that make the rest of us?”
The other professors also laughed heartily at the Principal’s words.
The evaluation ended peacefully in a warm atmosphere, and Zeke was granted permission to enter Valhalla.
Once everything was settled, he moved to the Atlas accommodation that Decker had arranged in advance.
He was able to acquire a luxury mansion not far from Valhalla using the black card received from the family head.
“Welcome.”
The servants greeted Zeke as he entered the mansion.
Decker, a servant more knightly than actual knights, also bowed to Zeke.
“How was Valhalla, young master?”
“It was fine. They want me to start next week. They’ll send enrollment documents, so please handle those.”
“Understood, young master.”
Zeke went straight to his room.
He still had unopened random boxes and random skill cards left as he had rushed to Valhalla right after arrival.
‘Three random boxes and three random skill cards.’
He had experience opening random boxes before.
But random skill cards were new to him.
Zeke opened the random boxes first.
He got one each of boots, lower armor, and earrings.
―Boots Information―
Description: Boots made of sturdy yet light cloud iron
Unique Ability: None
Special Note: Unique ability activates when cloud iron full set is completed
―Lower Armor Information―

―Earring Information―

Unique Ability: Increases mana recovery speed by 15%
Special Note: Matches well with a red dress
These were somewhat ordinary items.
Following the gauntlet, now boots and lower armor made of cloud iron appeared.
He thought he might complete the full set someday.
He decided to open the random skill cards next. Being his first time, he felt somewhat cautious.
Soon light emerged from the cards and messages appeared.
[Opening Random Skill Cards.]
[Active Skill ‘Static Electricity (Rank C)’ has been registered.]
[Active Skill ‘Flash Bang (Rank C)’ has been registered.]
[Active Skill ‘Dissonance (Rank C)’ has been registered.]
Three active skills were registered in total.
Zeke read the skill descriptions.
―Static Electricity: Applies electric shock to weapons.
―Flash Bang: Shoots an extremely bright light to block enemy vision.
―Dissonance: Creates an unpleasant sound that can confuse enemies.
Zeke activated the newly unlocked skill shortcut slot function.
Three empty slots appeared before his eyes.
When he pressed a slot, it was set up to let him choose one of the active skills to put in.
Zeke put Flash Bang, Dissonance, and Static Electricity into the slots in order.
[Skills placed in slots can be used by thought alone.]
After confirming the message, he grabbed his dagger and thought about using Static Electricity, and immediately current flowed through the blade.
“Oh. This is interesting.”
Once used, skill cards needed some time before they could be used again.
Zeke similarly activated the potion slots.
It was a function that allowed him to consume potions just by thinking after putting desired potions in three slot spaces.
It seemed useful in urgent situations during combat.
While checking his potions to fill the slots, Zeke found the vial containing the Fairy King’s Tears he received as a surprise mission reward.
’Come to think of it, what is this?’
Zeke read the description of the Fairy King’s Tears.
―Fairy King’s Tears: Can summon the Fairy King once from the spirit realm.
“Summon the Fairy King?”
In legends, the Fairy King appears as a being who grants humans’ wishes.
‘Then can I use this to summon the Fairy King and make a wish?’
After contemplating, Zeke carefully put the Fairy King’s Tears back in his inventory.
He felt it might come in handy someday, though he wasn’t sure when.
Knock knock!
There was a knocking sound, and when Zeke gave permission, Decker entered the room.
“What is it?”
He approached Zeke and said.
“Young master, you have a visitor.”
Chapters cost 15 coins to unlock each.
