Dragonslayer’s Class Regression 284

Chapter 284

‘Mother?’

Zeke was unable to continue speaking after realizing that the female magician’s identity was his mother who had died long ago.

His eyes trembled greatly upon seeing Laura Agamemnon, whom he had only seen in photographs.

As Zeke said nothing, Laura opened her mouth again, looking strange.

“I’ve revealed my identity, so you should reveal yours as well.”

At Laura’s words, Zeke barely came to his senses.

‘If it’s the Dawn Society… I know it as the predecessor of the Rose Society. Is this the time when they were saving the Lubern clan with Lord Fab?’

Zeke calmly organized his thoughts.

If it weren’t for his passive skill ‘Indomitable Will’, he would have had difficulty regaining his composure, as he was in a state of shock.

He looked at Laura and barely opened his mouth.

“I cannot reveal my identity. What I can say is…”

Zeke continued the rest through telepathy.

―That he came here to find the Temple of Chronos.

Laura was startled by Zeke’s voice suddenly ringing in her head.

However, she soon fell into contemplation upon hearing the word Chronos and then nodded.

“So that’s why that message came.”

When Laura signaled, Zeke felt the black-robed person and the archer stepping back.

She looked at Zeke and asked,

“How do you know about Chronos?”

Zeke was unsure if he should reveal the actual facts.

‘If I accidentally interfere with the timeline, the karmic reaction could cause damage to me or my mother.’

He needed to speak within a range that would minimally disturb the timeline.

“I am a hidden descendant of Lubern, searching for the Hero King’s legacy to protect the clan members.”

Laura’s eyes wavered at Zeke’s words.

“The Hero King? Do you mean Kaisir?”

“Yes, my goal is to find the power of the Hero King, a contractor of Chronos, and save the Lubern clan.”

Laura asked with a confused expression,

“What connection is there between the Temple of Chronos and the Hero King’s legacy?”

“I don’t know that either. The power of Chronos never directly reveals the answer.”

Laura nodded as if understanding.

She soon took something out from her bosom.

It was the Chronos watch that Zeke possessed.

Laura opened the watch’s lid and infused her power into it.

WHOOOOOM!

The watch absorbed the light, and a white light mass began to float. The light mass soon moved somewhere.

Laura gestured to Zeke and said,

“Follow me. If what you say is true, the power of Chronos will guide us.”

Zeke moved along with Laura, following the light.

The light descended into the museum’s basement.

As Zeke followed Laura chasing the light mass, his mind was complicated about what to say.

He never imagined he would meet his living mother after coming to the past.

Unable to express any of the words filling his mind, Zeke arrived with Laura at an unfinished underground space, following the light.

The light mass spun in the air and stopped in front of the innermost wall.

The light blinked as if flickering.

Laura touched the wall where the light was resting and tilted her head.

“Is something inside here?”

Zeke approached and tapped the wall, then drew Anexi’s dagger and cut through the wall like paper, creating an entryway.

THUD!

As the cut section fell, an entrance to the inside was created.

Laura looked at Zeke with renewed curiosity.

“I’ve never heard of a knight like you in Lubern.”

“I’ve been hiding as much as possible to avoid the eyes of those rat bastards, so almost no one knows me.”

Laura still seemed to have questions about Zeke’s identity.

Before she could dig deeper, Zeke entered the wall, following the light.

Inside the wall was a long cave path, like a dungeon.

‘This path didn’t exist in the time I was in… Did the cave collapse midway?’

Zeke glanced at Laura walking beside him and spoke.

“Laura Agamemnon, are you a Healer class?”

Laura slowly nodded.

“What are you asking when you already know?”

Zeke definitely learned that his mother had quite a prickly personality.

He asked her again,

“I thought Healers only came from the Lubern clan. How did a Healer emerge from the Agamemnon side?”

Laura looked at Zeke and said,

“Agamemnon is a collateral branch of Lubern. When the Order pushed Lubern from the throne, the scattered bloodline was absorbed by the Agamemnon family. It’s a fact I’ve only known for a short time.”

Just as Zeke had thought, Agamemnon was indeed a branch of the Lubern bloodline.

“Are there other families besides Agamemnon that have inherited the Lubern bloodline?”

Laura shook her head and said,

“At that time, the Lubern clan members were scattered everywhere, so there are no places bound together as a family unit like Agamemnon. However, if there are descendants who carry the Lubern bloodline, they can inherit the Healer talent. The Dawn Society is searching for such Lubern clan members.”

Zeke nodded at Laura’s words.

‘Most of the Lubern children probably manifested the Healer talent through ancestral regression.’

This time, Laura asked Zeke,

“What’s your name?”

After pondering, Zeke gave a false name.

“Kai.”

A hastily created name taken from his master Kaisir’s name.

“Kai Lubern.”

While walking following the light, Zeke asked Laura what he was most curious about.

“Do you know Arthur Draker?”

Laura glared at Zeke and said,

“Why are you suddenly bringing up that guy?”

Zeke was startled by the intense hostility towards Arthur Draker and responded,

“…Just asking. Seems you’re not on good terms with Arthur Draker.”

Laura clenched her fist and ground her teeth.

“Those damn Draker bastards. Despite expanding their power thanks to our family, they immediately discarded us like trash when our family faced difficulties.”

Zeke was rather puzzled by Laura’s frank expression.

‘If she hates them so much, why did she marry Arthur Draker and give birth to me?’

Rufus Agamemnon, the head of the Agamemnon family, had opposed Laura’s marriage to Arthur Draker.

Nevertheless, Laura had defied Rufus’s wishes and married the head of a family essentially considered their enemy.

Moreover, even after marrying Laura, Arthur Draker showed no concern for helping or supporting the Agamemnon family.

While lost in thought, Laura spoke again.

“If it weren’t for Ramon, I would never have formed a party with someone like Arthur.”

Zeke was surprised by Laura’s words.

‘Ramon? Could she be talking about Ramon Jiemens, the head of Jiemens?’

Laura seemed unaware that Narak was connected to Jiemens.

If he were to reveal that fact now, it could impact the karma, so Zeke had to bite his lip and keep silent.

He barely calmed himself and asked Laura,

“…Ramon, as in the Jiemens family, right?”

Laura nodded.

“Yes, he’s a million times better than Arthur Draker.”

Laura seemed to have an even greater fondness for Ramon.

“So you formed a party to explore dungeons together?”

“Precisely, it was four of us, including Rex Tourn. Yes, before meeting Lord Fab and joining the Dawn Society, we used to explore dungeons together.”

“Interesting. Draker, Jiemens, and Tourn entered dungeons with Agamemnon. What were they looking for?”

Laura looked at Zeke, hesitated, and then said,

“Well, since you’re seeking the Hero King’s legacy, it doesn’t matter if I tell you.”

She continued,

“We were trying to find the Elder Dragon’s relics.”

Suddenly, Zeke’s eyes widened.

‘Elder Dragon’s relics. Arthur Draker was already trying to find these back then.’

Laura spoke again,

“More precisely, Ramon wanted to find them. I joined the party because I wanted to break my family’s curse.”

“Ramon Jiemens was looking for the Elder Dragon’s relics?”

At Zeke’s words, Laura furrowed her brow and asked,

“How strange. You’re the first person who didn’t ask what the Elder Dragon is when I mentioned it. You seem to know something about the Elder Dragon’s relics.”

Zeke also realized his mother was quite perceptive.

“…I don’t know much. Just bits I’ve heard while pursuing the Hero King’s legacy.”

Laura nodded at his response.

“That could be. More importantly, how did you end up searching for the Hero King’s legacy?”

Laura’s tone had become much softer compared to when they first met.

After pondering, Zeke answered,

“I heard there’s a place somewhere in the Giant Mountains where the Hero King’s legacy sleeps. They say the Hero King’s swordsmanship is there.”

Laura looked intrigued.

“The Hero King’s swordsmanship. Arthur Draker would go crazy and rush over if he heard about this.”

“Arthur Draker seems very interested in swordsmanship.”

“Well, yes. He’s only interested in becoming stronger than others.”

At that moment, the light cluster suddenly accelerated and flew forward along the cave.

Zeke and Laura ran after the light.

The light cluster stopped at a place blocked by a large rock.

Laura tilted her head, looking at the light circling the rock.

“What’s this? The message clearly said to follow the light.”

Zeke noticed something strange about her words.

“By message, do you mean Chronos’s prophecy?”

Laura nodded.

“Prophecy? I’m not sure, but they sometimes fly in. Words appear before my eyes. Today, a message suddenly appeared telling me to come here, so I rushed over.”

Zeke realized that Laura was also experiencing a system window to some extent.

‘Can the system window be applied without using the dragon’s power? Perhaps it’s the power of the watch.’

Laura took out her watch, turning the crown and infusing power, but there was no response.

Watching this, Zeke suddenly had an idea.

‘Could it be?’

He discreetly took out his own watch and infused mana.

WHOOOOOM!

His watch reacted, and the light cluster vibrated and spread out.

Simultaneously, a white portal appeared where the rock had been.

Laura looked at the portal in surprise.

“What is that?”

A message appeared before Zeke’s eyes.

[The entrance to the Temple of Chronos has been opened.]

It was the Temple of Chronos entrance he had been searching for.

Zeke looked at Laura Agamemnon beside him.

He wanted to hug her just once, but given that he hadn’t revealed his identity, her personality suggested it might lead to another knife fight.

Suppressing his wavering emotions, Zeke extended his hand to Laura.

“Laura Agamemnon. Really… thank you. Thanks to you, I found the entrance.”

Laura tilted her head, then reached out and took Zeke’s hand.

Holding Laura’s hand, Zeke felt his heart strongly stirring from feeling his mother’s warmth for the first time.

He deliberately let go of their joined hands and turned around.

Zeke took a last look at Laura Agamemnon and slowly entered the portal.

WHOOOOOM!

As Zeke entered, the portal closed with a light.

Laura muttered, looking at the disappeared portal.

“Kai Lubern… the one Chronos directly sent a message to and let into the temple. What is his true identity?”

She recalled Chronos’s previous message.

‘At midnight, a person with black eyes will appear at the museum.’

There were no details about who he was or why he appeared.

Most of Chronos’s messages to her were like this.

At that moment, someone appeared behind Laura.

It was the black-robed person wearing a mask.

Laura approached the black-robed person.

“What is it? Why did you follow me?”

The black-robed person slowly removed their mask.

A woman with red hair, pale skin, and a vampire’s unique mysterious gem-like eyes.

She looked at Laura and said,

“I couldn’t leave you alone. What did that suspicious person say?”

Laura shook her head.

“He wasn’t suspicious. Just… a bit strange.”

Laura gazed at the cave where Zeke disappeared, then turned to the vampire woman.

“Let’s go back, Carmilla.”

* * *

WHOOOOOM!

Zeke emerged from the portal in bright light.

Looking around, it seemed to be the top of a tower with windows on all sides.

‘Where am I?’

As he tried to survey his surroundings, Zeke felt dizzy and a headache.

“UGH.”

Unlike other portal transfers, he felt severe motion sickness and winced, staggering.

Someone approached Zeke.

“Feeling a bit dizzy? It’s because you’ve crossed timelines.”

Zeke grabbed his head and looked ahead.

And in that moment, he couldn’t help but be shocked.

“Master Kaisir?”
