Chapter 227
“Captain Kidd’s ship… you mean the Pirate King’s treasure?”.
Peter Pan nodded while looking at the ship.
“Wow, to think I’d actually see Captain Kidd’s ship…!”
She muttered before running toward the ship.
Then she summoned a water stream and jumped onto the ship.
Watching Peter Pan, Zeke clicked his tongue inwardly.
‘She’s being rash, there could be curses or defensive magic.’
Though if there were curses on the ship, Peter Pan would take the hit instead, so it didn’t really matter.
A moment later, Peter Pan jumped into the ship and shouted.
“Holy crap! What the hell? The treasure here is insane!”
Zeke smirked at Peter Pan’s voice unconsciously using dialect, and while she was investigating inside the ship, he looked around thinking there must be a connection to the outside.
‘That ship probably can’t use wells to come and go like the sea people.’
Shortly after, Zeke found a lava cave that seemed to connect to the outside. However, the exit path was blocked by rocks.
‘I wonder if this can be opened with the system too.’
Zeke attempted to access the administrator system.
[Would you like to open the Deep Sea Tribe’s Tomb exit?]
As Zeke expected, it was possible to open the rock door.
It seemed the descendants of the sea god used this passage to move by ship when interacting with humans.
‘Wait, then was Captain Kidd, who was the Pirate King, also a descendant of the sea god?’
If Captain Kidd hadn’t been a descendant of the sea god, he couldn’t have known about the location of this island or the sea people’s tomb.
Zeke realized why the legend arose that one could become the Pirate King by finding Captain Kidd’s treasure.
Only descendants of the sea god could enter this place anyway.
It seemed Captain Kidd meant for his descendants to find this place and take the treasures and sea people’s legacy, but that got distorted as it was passed down.
‘Peter Pan is technically the rightful owner of the legacy.’
But strangely, no message appeared saying Zeke’s quest mission was completed.
‘The mission was clearly to find the forgotten island of the sea god. Shouldn’t the mission be completed as soon as we found this island?’
This had never happened before, so it felt strange.
Just then, Peter Pan shouted from the ship.
“Hey, Draker! I’m in a good mood so I’ll specially give you a chance to ride this ship! Come on up!”
She must have been in a really good mood to offer a chance to ride the ship to a human she so disliked.
‘But why does she think the ship is hers?’
Zeke shook his head and, carrying the lying Kali, lightly jumped up onto the ship.
THUD!
Landing on the deck, Zeke looked around the Triangle.
For a ship that had been abandoned in here for so long, the deck was clean like new.
Peter Pan stood on the deck acting like it was her own ship and said proudly to Zeke:
“This is! The Pirate King Captain Kidd’s unbreakable ship! The Triangle!”
“Unbreakable ship?”.
“Yeah. The Pirate King’s ship was famous for being unbreakable! Haven’t you ever heard about it?”.
Zeke shrugged and shook his head.
Peter Pan clicked her tongue and said to Zeke:
“Tsk tsk, land dwellers really… Listen up! Captain Kidd was the first one to cross that terrifying Death Sea and find the route to the Eastern Empire! He was a legendary pirate and explorer!”
Peter Pan started rattling off Captain Kidd’s legendary tales.
As Zeke was looking around the hull while half-listening, something caught his ear.
“Captain Kidd even went to the Dark Sea with this ship where no one else could…”
Zeke turned to Peter Pan.
“What did you just say?”.
Peter Pan startled and stepped back when Zeke suddenly turned with a serious expression.
“Wh-what?”.
“Did you say Captain Kidd went to the Dark Sea?”.
Peter Pan nodded and said.
“Uh, yeah… Captain Kidd went to the Dark Sea with this. While normal ships all break apart, the Triangle is an unbreakable ship so sailing was possible.”
“What did Captain Kidd do in the Dark Sea?”.
Peter Pan tilted her head.
“Hmm… I only heard that he went to the Dark Sea, I haven’t heard what exactly he did there.”
Zeke recalled how Terakan Draker tried to go somewhere beyond the Dark Sea to resurrect the dead Bahamut.
If Captain Kidd had been to the Dark Sea, he might have found traces of Terakan Draker who went there.
‘Captain Kidd. I’ll need to look up the records.’
Organizing his thoughts, Zeke asked Peter Pan:
“Peter Pan, can you move this ship?”.
Peter Pan was taken aback.
“How can I move such a big ship alone? We need either rowers or wind. Though I’m not sure if wind would be enough for this size…”
“Hmm.”
Zeke had a feeling this ship must also be an ancient relic.
He went up to the wheelhouse, leaving Peter Pan behind.
Looking around the wheelhouse, as Zeke expected, the structure was different from ordinary ships.
‘The structure is similar to what I saw on the ark.’
Though smaller in scale than the ark, there were colorful crystals embedded in the control panel.
Peter Pan had come up to the wheelhouse with Kali.
Seeing the wheelhouse interior, Peter Pan’s jaw dropped.
“Wh-what is this? Why is the wheelhouse like this?”.
Zeke grabbed the wheel like he did on the ark.
Then he infused it with mana.
[Advanced Administrator Code Confirmed]
[Temporary Administrator Access Granted]
[Activating vessel.]
WHOOOOONG!
As Zeke expected, the ship began to vibrate and slowly started moving.
“Huh? The-the ship is moving.”
With no rowers and no wind, Peter Pan couldn’t help but be shocked that the ship was moving on its own.
Just then, a hologram appeared from the crystal embedded in the center of the wheelhouse control panel, showing a view of the ship’s surroundings and navigation maps.
It was like looking at the latest hologram device from the Delpoa Magician Guild.
“Wh-what is all this?”.
Having lived on an island her whole life, Peter Pan had never even seen modern magical tools, so she couldn’t help but be amazed at seeing an even more advanced system.
Meanwhile, Zeke quickly adapted since he was somewhat familiar with such control systems through the administrator system.
‘This is for direction, and this adjusts the direction.’
He turned the wheel while watching the screen to set the direction and turned the crystal to set the speed.
The ship then turned and began heading toward the lava cave.
“Is-is this magic?”.
Though Peter Pan had inherited ancient spirit magic, she couldn’t get her bearings seeing such a huge ship move on its own.
Soon after looking around, Peter Pan panicked as the ship approached the lava cave.
“Wha-what! Hey hey! We’re gonna cr-crash!”
Her dialect came pouring out in her panic.
Zeke commanded the system to open the exit.
RUMBLE!
The rock door opened, creating an exit for the ship to pass through.
As the ship smoothly passed through the exit, Peter Pan finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Whew. Thought I was gonna die. What in the world is this?”.
Watching her, Zeke said to Peter Pan.
“You seem more comfortable using dialect, is there a reason you’re forcing yourself to use standard common language?”.
Peter Pan’s face instantly turned red at Zeke’s words.
“Wh-when did I use dialect?! I don’t use dialect!”
Zeke inwardly smirked at Peter Pan’s reaction.
‘Seems she has a complex about her dialect.’
Leaving Peter Pan red-faced and huffing, Zeke steered the ship toward the front of the island.
He planned to head to where the Reinhart Company’s ship was, quickly gather his companions and leave the island.
‘Though I’d like to wipe out all those imperial bastards, treating Lady Kali and safely taking her to the territory comes first.’
The Triangle could maintain steady fast speeds without rocking even in waves.
It was so stable that it barely felt like being on a ship.
After confirming smooth sailing, Zeke asked Peter Pan:
“Do you know where the other merpeople are being held?”.
Peter Pan’s expression changed at those words.
“They’re keeping them on the warship at the back of the island to use as hostages against me. Those damn imperial bastards.”
As Peter Pan got agitated, the water bed where Kali lay turned red and began to boil. Zeke calmed her saying:
“Take Lady Kali to lie down in the inner cabin. Let’s think together about how to rescue the Fishermen .”
Peter Pan looked slightly surprised at Zeke’s words.
“You’ll really help rescue the villagers?”.
“Didn’t I promise that?”.
In truth, Peter Pan hadn’t believed Zeke, a human.
The humans she had seen treated promises as lightly as seaweed floating on the sea.
So she was somewhat touched by Zeke’s words.
Meanwhile, Zeke shook his head seeing Peter Pan’s reaction.
‘To show such a reaction over something that’s obviously part of our deal. It’ll be fortunate if she doesn’t get scammed living like that.’
Though she tried to hide it, Peter Pan was just as innocent as the young mermen group.
While Peter Pan took Kali to the cabin, Zeke examined various functions of the ship.
But then a warning message appeared on the screen.
[Twenty armed vessels approaching from the side.]
Zeke brought up the screen to check.
“That’s?”.
Surprisingly, the ships flew pirate flags bearing Captain Hook’s mark.
Hook’s approaching ships stopped at regular intervals, turned sideways, opened their gun ports and aimed their magic cannons.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Magic cannons fired from ten ships, sending huge iron balls flying toward the Triangle.
CRASH CRASH!
The ship rocked heavily as the iron balls struck its side.
“Wha-what!”
Peter Pan came running up to the wheelhouse in surprise.
Zeke pointed at the screen and said:
“It’s Hook’s pirate crew.”
Seeing Captain Hook’s pirate flag, Peter Pan gritted her teeth.
“That rotten good-for-nothing pirate bastard again! I’m gonna sink those bastards today and feed them to the fish!”
Just as Peter Pan was angrily heading outside, more cannonballs flew toward the hull.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Though it was an unbreakable ship that wouldn’t sink from cannonballs, it couldn’t completely offset the impact.
Rolling onto the deck, Peter Pan ground her teeth.
“That crazy pirate bastard!”
Just then, Captain Hook’s pirate ship rapidly approached the Triangle.
Then they threw grappling hooks toward the ship.
WHOOSH!
Before they could block them, pirates grabbed the hooks and swung over onto the deck.
“HAHAHA! The Pirate King’s treasure is mine!”
Peter Pan hurriedly commanded spirits to shoot water cannons at the boarding pirates.
SPLASH! SPLASH!
The pirates hit by the massive water cannons fell into the sea.
But there were so many that some managed to dodge and jump onto the deck.
“KYAAAAH!”
The pirates swung their swords at Peter Pan while letting out bizarre screams.
Peter Pan gathered streams of water to create the form of a sea serpent.
“Catch all those bastards!”
The sea serpent lunged at the pirates.
CRASH! CRASH!
The sea serpent, its body swollen with seawater, wrapped around not just the pirates but also the nearby pirate ships.
ROOOOOAR!
While Peter Pan controlled it to wreck the pirate ships, other ships of Captain Hook’s fleet surrounded the Triangle.
Seeing the pirate ships now encircling them, Peter Pan gritted her teeth.
“Damn it…”
The largest flagship among the pirate ships blocked the Triangle’s path.
Then someone leaped down onto the Triangle’s deck from that ship.
THUD!
A large man with a hook-shaped beard.
It was Captain Hook, one of the great pirates of the South Sea.
Seeing Peter Pan, he stroked his beard and smirked.
“Peter Pan. Looking even more ridiculous than usual today. Where are your stinking merman buddies? Left you all alone?”
Peter Pan glared at Hook and shouted. I’m
“You pirate bastard. Today I’m gonna sink you all and feed you to the fish.”
Hook smirked at those words and drew his sword.
“Well, try if you can. Though I doubt you can with that pathetic skill.”
Just then, as Peter Pan and Hook were facing off:
BOOM! BOOM!
One of the pirate ships blocking the Triangle could be seen sinking with a thunderous noise.
Captain Hook looked at the sinking ship with a dumbfounded expression.
“Wh-what’s suddenly..?.”
THUD!
Zeke jumped down to the deck holding Bahamut.
He looked at Hook and said:
“It’s been a while, Captain Hook.”
Recognizing Zeke’s face, Captain Hook said in surprise:
“The impudent young brother from back then?”.
He pointed Bahamut and said.
“There’s no whiskey to give you today so get lost now. Otherwise…”
Zeke’s sword flashed.
BOOM! BOOM!
Another nearby ship sank with a thunderous noise.
Both Hook and Peter Pan gaped.
Zeke pointed his sword at Hook again and said.
“You won’t make it out alive.”
