Became a Constellation in a Sci-Fi Worldview 4

Ch.4 Incarnation contract 3

The newly contracted Incarnation couldn’t adapt to the constellation’s power and went on a rampage, flying around in the sky. The small commotion that occurred on a frontier planet of the Hyper Galactic Empire Federation quickly came to an end.

Fortunately, thanks to the story ending with the powerless Incarnation falling from the sky, it was able to pass without major damage. The government officials on the planet breathed sighs of relief, and an awkward smile lingered on the lips of Lee Yu-na, who was released after receiving only simple treatment at the hospital.

The people who heard the news that an Incarnation who contracted with a constellation had emerged from their planet felt the same way.

An anonymous posting community, was it called the planetary network? The reason I suddenly found myself browsing the community of Ratan planet residents wasn’t anything special.

It was because of Yu-na, who was staying in residential facilities provided by the government for convenience before departing to a planet called Chiron to receive the mandatory education that all Incarnations receive.

“Heh. Hehe…”

A beautiful woman was rolling around on a snow-white bed, holding a palm-sized electronic device and making a sinister laugh. And with a face full of anticipation, searching for keywords related to Incarnations and constellations. Her cute, silly appearance giggling “ehehe” when news articles or reactions to her liking appeared was endearing.

Seeing such behavior, she was unmistakably a common citizen, but well, I made the contract because I was drawn to such common citizen-like aspects.

The constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, praises that the first Incarnation is cute.

“…HICCUP! Con. Constellation-nim. This is! I mean…”

Did she momentarily forget that I was watching? The electronic device fell with a thud from the hands of the woman who had been making a sinister smile just moments before. Thinking she had shown an embarrassing appearance before her constellation, her face turned bright red as she covered it with her hands and trembled.

The constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, says that being happy about fame is natural behavior.

“Ugh. You were watching everything from the beginning?!”

Yu-na looked up at the air with a tearful expression. She said she was 21 years old, didn’t she? In my previous life, she would be of college age studying. In this world, much more advanced than my previous life, she’s scheduled to fight cosmic monsters.

Though she was already considering a career path fighting the monsters that were her parents’ enemies, wouldn’t my contract with her lead her to an even more dangerous place? I hoped the power called Cosmic Power that I gave her would be helpful. After Yu-na’s rampage ended, according to the excited planetary official, it seemed to be a power with tremendous potential.

“I couldn’t tell you earlier, but I’m really grateful that you made a contract with me. The power that Constellation-nim bestowed seems to be a new ability not registered in the database, but it’s said to be quite advantageous in combat…”

The constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, cheers on the Incarnation.

I hoped this cute Incarnation’s future would be a little easier.

Time passed, and the time for Yu-na to depart to planet Chiron approached. When she had just arrived at the residential facility provided by the planetary government, she often meditated or moved her body to draw out the power she received from me, but she stopped after receiving what wasn’t quite a warning but was a warning.

“Incarnation Yu-na-nim. If the power you received from Constellation-nim goes on a rampage again, there might be casualties.”

“Huh.”

“It would be better not to try to draw out the power you received from Constellation-nim until you go to planet Chiron…”

After that, her life of rolling around on what looked like a soft bed, briefly showing her face for interviews or broadcasts, and then rolling around again had ended.

An intellectual-looking official sat in front of Yu-na and began explaining.

“To reach the northeastern star system where planet Chiron is located, you need to board a ship equipped with a warp engine and make a long-distance warp. First, go to the Alpha-182 star system, then from there you can find a ship going to the northeastern star system.”

“I knew the planet that educates Incarnations was far away… but is it that far?”

The realization of technology called interstellar navigation or interstellar travel. Humanity in this era of pioneering space invented warp technology that leaps through space. Most space vessels were equipped with warp engines capable of jumping across space, and leaping distances of thousands of light-years had become commercialized reality.

Of course, since this was a world with constellations, there were many cases where the power or magic of constellations was mixed with scientific power.

“There’s also the method of taking a ship equipped with a mana-engineering engine that processes mana concentrates, but I wouldn’t recommend it to Incarnation Yu-na. There’s a possibility of conflict with that Cosmic Power that Whispering Star Cluster bestowed upon you.”

“Um, but what about the cost? I don’t have that many credits.”

“You don’t need to worry. The planetary government will cover all expenses.”

This was a worldview where transcendent beings called constellations actually existed. Instead of singers or idols, Incarnations who contracted with constellations took their place, and famous Incarnations were treated like celebrities.

Was it the constellation called Quiet Starlight, a galactic spirit? The faces of several Incarnations known to have contracted with that constellation were floating around on the network.

And so Yu-na ended up boarding a space vessel. Though she would know from knowledge, since this was her first time in outer space, she spent a long time looking outside.

I too had looked at space with interest after becoming a body swirling with starlight. Now I was bored to the point of forcibly blocking my senses and watching this dimension’s Incarnation instead.

“Is the star that Constellation-nim rules over also so beautiful?”

After talking to her every day, she now treated me somewhat familiarly. Perhaps because this was an era that pioneered space and identified the existence of gods, she didn’t revere me like an unapproachable monotheistic god, which was somewhat nice.

The constellation, Whispering Star Cluster, says that it does not rule over stars.

“Huh? But all the constellations from other dimensions are planetary spirits.”

Though they say only beings of planetary spirit level or higher can explore other dimensions, among those who actually created Incarnations in this dimension, there wasn’t a single being of galactic spirit level or higher.

When I didn’t send any more messages, she whispered to the air with a half-believing expression.

“Could it be that Constellation-nim is a galactic spirit… ruling over galaxies?!”

Would she believe if I told her I was floating around in a space where galaxies looked like dust? That even a goddess called a galactic spirit in this place wanted to be subordinate to me?

Setting aside my Incarnation’s face showing disbelief, I didn’t want to show off my power in a world that expressed galactic spirits like Nyseira as great, so I kept my mouth shut for now.

“Ey… that’s not it, right? Constellation-nim. You’re joking, right? Hehe.”

Maybe someday I’ll tell her.

Alpha-182 star system. A star system with numerous warp gates installed to reach even the frontier planets of the Galactic Empire Federation.

Unlike warp engines installed in space vessels, using these warp gates, they say you can arrive at a designated place with just one leap. Generally, if ships equipped with warp engines are capable of short and medium-distance space jumps, all ships passing through warp gates are capable of ultra-long-distance space jumps.

Perhaps that’s why. Inside the massive fleet going to planet Chiron through the warp gate, numerous Incarnations were aboard. There were tremendously many mortals who contracted with constellations throughout the galaxy. Looking around, it was a space full of Incarnations marked in red.

Well, planet Chiron is a place where Incarnations from across the galaxy gather. Basically, the human race was the most numerous, but aliens weren’t few either.

A race with four arms. A race with square heads and blue coloring. Humanoid races with split pupils and three horns, etc.

“Great Race God, I will try to meet your expectations.”

“Constellation-nim. I have something to ask about the authority you bestowed last time.”

“The principle behind the warp gates humans made? Hmm. If you wish, I’ll find someone involved and ask.”

“Hmph. Like a country bumpkin from a small planet, you can’t even properly digest your constellation’s authority.”

“Have you run your mouth enough? Accept a duel when we arrive on the planet.”

Among all these Incarnations chattering, our Yu-na.

“Incarnation-nim. Please refrain from using dangerous abilities inside the ship.”

“Ah! Yes! I’m sorry.”

She was showing a small smile while trying to use Cosmic Power in her hand, but got restricted by a crew member and shrank.

…Right. It’s her first time getting a superpower, so she might want to try using it a bit.
