Chapter 5: Try Using It. Part 2Â
Having discovered that Appraisal Magic didn’t consume MP and that saying Appraisal activated Appraisal Magic, Tatsuki Tenma thought about trying other magic and briefly considered which magic to use and where. He decided to head toward what appeared to be a castle wall. He extended his right hand and said:
Wind Cutter
Immediately after he spoke, Tatsuki Tenma felt something decrease.
What Tatsuki Tenma had imagined was a blade of wind, 1-meter-wide, moving forward at ankle height. The magic activated exactly as he imagined. His magic cut through the weeds, traveled about 25 meters, and then dissipated.
When Tatsuki Tenma checked his status, he saw that 10 points of MP had been consumed.
‘So, attribute magic consumes MP. Was that the sensation of MP consumption? Is Appraisal Magic special? Magic might be the manifestation of imagination. If so, Store’
While he focused on Subspace Storage and said “Store”, the weeds that had been cut by the Wind Cutter within about a 10-meter radius from his feet disappeared. He didn’t feel the sensation he had experienced earlier.
He checked his status and confirmed that no MP was consumed. Tatsuki Tenma noticed that a Stored Items notation had been added to his status. When he pressed it:
Weeds×25,323 was written.
When he pressed Weeds×25,323:
A number pad appeared.
As a test, he entered 1 and pressed the Enter key.
Deploy and Discard appeared.
When he selected Discard, a YES/NO prompt appeared.
When he pressed YES, the display changed to “Weeds×25,322.”
Next, following the same procedure, he entered 25,322 and selected Deploy, creating a small mountain of weeds at his feet. The “Stored Items” notation disappeared from his status.
Again, while focusing on Subspace Storage, he said “Store.” After he confirmed the appearance of the Stored Items notation, he said “Deploy” while thinking of just one weed in his right hand, and it appeared exactly as he thought.
Next, with the image of discarding stored items, he said “Store” to the weed in his right hand. When he checked Stored Items, it showed “Weeds×25,322.”
‘With Subspace Storage, if I know what’s inside, I can specify the quantity to take out. “Discard” can only be done from the status screen? The storage range is about 10 meters, right? This is a skill that could be used for stealing. It would be good if I could hide it with a disguise. Next, shall I check Physical Enhancement?’
Tatsuki Tenma tried jumping in place.
