Dragonslayer’s Class Regression Chapter 57

Chapter 57

“Hey, medicine?”

Aster was startled by Zeke’s words.

Then he became gloomy and shook his head.

“Thanks for the offer, but I’ll pass. I’ve already tried all the good medicines, but none of them worked.”

Seeing Aster becoming even gloomier, Zeke grinned.

“Never mind that. Follow me.”

Zeke dragged Aster to a nearby lawn.

After going to a somewhat secluded spot, Zeke pulled something out from his chest.

It was a small pouch that fit perfectly in his palm.

“Aster. How many hours do you want to sleep?”

“Huh? Well, if possible, it would be nice to get even two hours of deep sleep.”

Zeke quickly opened the pouch under Aster’s nose.

Aster looked at Zeke and said,

“No matter what you try, it won’t…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Aster collapsed right there on the lawn.

Seeing Aster sleeping deeply while snoring, Zeke nodded.

“Sandman’s sleep sand. The effect is incredible.”

After becoming an intermediate manager, his range of purchasable items had greatly expanded, and there were all sorts of strange items.

There were items to treat insomnia, antidepressants, and even stamina enhancers.

He never thought he’d use something he had only found curious before, but the effect seemed even better than expected.

Zeke left Aster sleeping on the lawn to take care of some business, then returned two hours later.

Aster was still sleeping soundly, unaware of the world, so Zeke shook him awake.

“…work.”

Aster woke up finishing the sentence he was saying earlier.

He noticed something strange and looked around.

The headache that had been throbbing was gone.

Aster looked at Zeke with an expression of disbelief.

“Did I actually fall asleep?”

“You slept really well. The medicine seemed quite effective.”

Aster, who hadn’t been able to sleep for a week, felt refreshed throughout his body even though he only got two hours of deep sleep.

He grabbed Zeke’s hand and said,

“My goodness, thank you so much! I can’t believe it… the world is such a beautiful place!”

Aster jumped up and down excitedly.

Then he said to Zeke,

“Where can I buy that medicine? Please tell me.”

Zeke shook his head.

“I barely got it from someone I know as a secret medicine, so you can’t buy it separately.”

At Zeke’s words, Aster deflated in disappointment.

That’s when Zeke spoke to Aster.

“There is one way to get this medicine though.”

Aster brightened up and approached Zeke.

“What, what is it?”

“Have you decided what you’ll do after graduation?”

Aster shook his head.

“No, not yet. I was planning to look around after graduation, but if my insomnia gets worse, normal life becomes impossible, so I’m not sure.”

Then Zeke grinned and pulled out a contract he had prepared from his chest.

“If you contract with me, I’ll provide the medicine regularly. Enough for you to sleep well once every three days.”

Aster was surprised at Zeke’s words.

“Re-really? I just need to sign a contract?”

Aster tried to sign without even properly reading the contract.

Instead, Zeke stopped him.

“Hey. When signing a contract, you should at least properly read the terms. You could end up being sold to somewhere bad otherwise.”

Despite Zeke’s words, Aster hurriedly signed the contract without asking any questions.

“As long as I can sleep properly, I’ll do anything.”

Seeing Aster like this, Zeke clicked his tongue internally.

‘Did this guy get sold to the Empire just like this in his previous life?’

He had obtained one of the Five-Star Knights more easily than expected.

Zeke gathered the contract with a satisfied expression and handed the sleep sand to Aster.

“This is a month’s supply. If you take too much at once, you might sleep forever, so only use the amount I told you.”

“Ah, okay.”

Looking at Aster, who seemed somewhat loose in the head despite potentially having good skills, Zeke wore an unsatisfied expression.

‘Like Diego, all these Five-Star Knights seem somewhat lacking somewhere.’

Among those he had seen, Reina seemed the most normal.

But Zeke soon shook his head.

‘Get it together. I shouldn’t fall into such Draker-like  thinking.’

“Aster.”

“Yes?”

“From now on, call me Master instead.”

“Ah, sorry. Master.”

“Let’s test your skills before going to Delpoa.”

Thinking he would thoroughly educate him about hierarchy later, Zeke took Aster to the training ground.

In his previous life, he had heard many rumors about the Knight of Illusion, but since he had never directly faced him on the battlefield, he needed to properly assess his abilities.

When Zeke drew out Bahamut, Aster began assembling something from his bag.

After a moment, a fairly long spear was created.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen a knight who uses a spear.”

“Ah, it’s because of family spear techniques. No, I mean it’s because of spear techniques, Master.”

Aster took position in front of Zeke with his spear.

Until just now, Aster had been walking weakly and sluggishly, but once he held the spear, the atmosphere completely changed.

‘Hoh, not bad.’

Zeke said to Aster.

“You can freely use your aura.”

Aster flinched slightly at those words.

“Uh, really?”

“Yes. Use all your strength.”

After contemplating, Aster nodded.

Then he pointed his spear at Zeke.

Woong!

Soon, as Aster’s aura was injected into the spear, energy rose like a heat haze.

Zeke also aimed Bahamut at Aster.

Aster took his stance with his center of gravity in the back.

Though the spear’s length was long, making it seem like he would thrust forward, surprisingly it appeared to be a defensive technique.

Zeke charged at Aster first.

Whoosh!

Zeke faced Aster’s spear with basic dragon-slaying techniques.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Aster blocked the sword without much difficulty while maintaining distance and swinging his long spear.

The reach was so long that it was difficult to get close to Aster.

‘In that case.’

Zeke stepped on an illusion step and dove into Aster’s inner space.

That’s when it happened.

Click!

Suddenly Aster’s spear separated, and the long spear changed into a short spear.

Aster, who struck Zeke’s sword with the spear shaft in his left hand, dove into Zeke’s opening with the spear in his right hand.

Whoosh!

Using both hands for spear techniques, the balance between offense and defense was perfect.

When Zeke stepped back, Aster reassembled the spear into a long spear again.

‘An interesting technique.’

Switching between long spear and short spear while adapting to the opponent’s distance with irregular techniques, it seemed like an ordinary knight would fall without being able to properly demonstrate their skills.

However, Zeke was an opponent well-versed in such irregular techniques.

Suddenly, Zeke pulled out a dagger and threw it at Aster.

Aster immediately reacted and deflected the dagger, but due to the strong force behind it, he had no choice but to hesitate.

Zeke didn’t miss that opening and dove into the low blind spot, aiming for Aster’s legs.

Swoosh!

Aster stepped back to avoid Zeke’s sword.

But Zeke’s attack didn’t end there.

Waiting for Aster’s balance to be disrupted, he immediately rose and unleashed his dragon-slaying technique.

Dragon-slaying technique True Dragon Sword Form

Chapter 2 verse 1

Earth Slash

The simplest technique but with equally certain power.

Faced with Zeke’s Earth Slash, Aster panicked, separated his spear shaft, and immediately drew up energy.

Aladov-style Spear Technique

Counter Technique

Reverse Pierce

Aster’s spear rotated, trying to catch and redirect the technique from Zeke’s sword.

However, the power of Zeke’s Earth Slash was so strong that the reversal didn’t work.

Rather, Aster’s spear was pulled along by Zeke’s attack.

“Ugh!”

Aster tried to endure somehow, but it was useless.

Finally, unable to deflect Zeke’s sword strike, Aster took the Earth Slash head-on.

Boom!

Hit by the Earth Slash and sent flying, Aster crashed into the training ground wall.

“Kuhek!”

With pain as if his whole body had been beaten, Aster couldn’t regain his senses.

“Urgh!”

Zeke approached Aster and took something out to give him.

“Drink this.”

It was a diluted lower healing potion solution.

The healing potions bought from the system shop were so effective that even when diluted, they were better than regular potions.

Aster drank the potion and barely caught his breath.

“Ugh. Master, are you a monster?”

“I’m not a monster, you’ve just been training too carelessly.”

At those words, Aster’s jaw dropped.

Having lived only as a genius, it was the first time he had been so directly told that his skills were lacking.

“You’ll need some training before going on missions.”

Seeing Zeke’s fierce smile, Aster got goosebumps but couldn’t argue back.

* * *

After throwing Aster into a crucible of shock, Zeke returned to the mansion in a good mood.

Zeke was slightly excited while planning out the training schedule to torment Aster.

That’s when Decker approached Zeke and said,

“A guest has arrived, young master.”

Gelion was in the reception room.

“It’s been a while, Gelion.”

“Have you been well, my lord?”

“How’s the blacksmith work going?”

At Zeke’s question, Gelion replied with an embarrassed expression.

“Thanks to you, my lord, I’m making weapons satisfactorily. Though it’s embarrassing, lately there have been people coming from far away little by little.”

In his previous life, Gelion was called the Soul Blacksmith.

Now that he had a magic furnace, it wouldn’t take long for his skills to become known.

‘After letting him gain some experience, I should bring him over to my side completely.’

Once he established his own base, he planned to use Gelion as his exclusive blacksmith.

“By the way, my lord, why did you call for me? Is there a problem with Bahamut?”

Zeke shook his head.

“There’s no problem with Bahamut. I called you for something else. Let’s go over there.”

Zeke took Gelion to his private training ground.

Then he said to Gelion,

“Gelion. What you’re about to see must never be revealed to the outside.”

Gelion nodded.

“Of course, my lord.”

Zeke moved away from Gelion a bit and transformed the armor plate he was wearing.

Clang clang clang!

Hersion enveloped Zeke’s entire body and transformed into full plate armor.

“Oh, my goodness!”

Gelion’s jaw dropped upon seeing Zeke equipped with Hersion.

Zeke approached Gelion and said.

“Do you know about this armor? I can’t find any information about it no matter how much I search.”

Although it was registered in the system, he couldn’t get any information about the armor even with the dragon eye.

He had called Gelion directly hoping that learning the armor’s identity might help solve the mystery of Kain, who had possessed it.

Gelion examined every corner of Hersion with a serious expression.

After a moment, as if he had figured something out, he stuck out his tongue.

“Did you figure something out?”

Then Gelion nodded and opened his mouth.

“I’ve never seen anything like this. From its construction to its materials, I don’t know any of it.”

Zeke was taken aback by Gelion’s words.

If Gelion, the apprentice of the dwarf master craftsman Golin, didn’t know, who could possibly know about this armor?

Just as Zeke was becoming serious at these unexpected words, Gelion corrected himself.

“Ah, my lord. When I say I don’t know, I mean this artifact is beyond the scope of what I’ve learned. From that, there are some things I can infer about this armor.”

“What do you mean?”

“I learned everything from my master about things made after the Golden Age.”

Zeke looked at Gelion and said.

“Are you saying this armor was made before the Golden Age?”

“That’s what I think. Looking at the completely new structural approach, materials, and composition, this couldn’t be made with modern technology. It might be technology from the age of the legendary Hero King or even an ancient civilization from further back.”

“Is it very different from the Empire’s Hersion?”

Gelion nodded.

“Comparing that to this armor doesn’t make sense. I helped my master work on Hersion, but the sophistication of this armor is incomparable. It’s on a completely different level.”

“Amazing. Even the Empire’s Hersion costs hundreds of thousands of gold, and you’re saying this is even more extraordinary.”

Zeke became even more curious about the identity of Cain who had worn such armor.

Gelion asked Zeke.

“The armor’s material is really unique… It’s neither mithril nor dragon bone, yet it has such strength and elasticity. Do you know anything about it?”

At that question, Zeke seemed to remember something and told Gelion.

“Ah, come to think of it, this armor. It even deflected an Aura Blade.”

Gelion was shocked at Zeke’s words.

“Is, is that true?”

“It deflected the Aura Blade I made.”

“Oh, my goodness.”

Zeke couldn’t understand why Gelion was so surprised.

“What’s wrong, Gelion? Is that so remarkable?”

Gelion spoke with a trembling voice.

“My, my lord. There is only one metal in the world that can deflect an Aura Blade.”

Gelion exclaimed with an excited expression.

“Only Orichalcon, known as the metal of the gods!”
