I Killed the Demon King. It Was a Mistake.
Chapter 137
Caesar pushed the ogre back and retreated just before its massive mouth could swallow him.
But the ogre regained its balance and charged again.
Kwaaaaaang!
It was ridiculous for an ogre to use ‘spear energy’, and what was this monstrous mouth?
How many abilities did this creature even have?
Concealment, deception, an ability to strengthen its right arm, and this bizarre mouth.
It was almost like fighting a square devil.
‘Still, the one-man supporting magic is truly remarkable.’
Until just moments ago, he was nearly dying from the ogre’s attacks.
He was contemplating whether to use a Berserker quadruple stack instead of triple when the one-man supporting magic conveniently entered.
True to Raven’s magic, it melted into Caesar’s body without any dissonance, dramatically increasing his physical strength.
And moreover…
Push!
The sharp winds from Caesar’s axe pierced through the ogre’s thick skin and definitively damaged its muscles.
Just moments ago, even the sharpest winds only left scratches, but now this.
Raven is truly extraordinary.
Swish!
Of course, due to the monster’s healing ability, the wounds were almost instantly healed, but there was a method for that too.
“Kuaaaaaaah!”
Caesar’s wind sliced through the right head’s two eyes.
Momentarily losing sight, the creature wildly swung its spear in all directions.
Caesar entered the right head’s blind spot and swung Thunder.
Thud!
For the first time, Thunder struck the creature’s side, tearing into its internal organs.
Phage, Phage, Phage!
The high-temperature lightning from Thunder completely shredded and burned its internal organs.
“Kaaaaaaaaah!”
At that moment, a spear flew towards Caesar’s temple.
Caesar pulled out Thunder to dodge and stared at the right head.
The monstrous creature had already healed itself.
“It hurts! It hurts!”
The creature swung the spear like a club.
Caesar tried to target its eyes again, but the creature dropped its left spear and covered its eyes with its hand, swinging the spear with its right hand.
It was a typically ogre-like, brutish response… But it worked extremely well against Caesar.
Swinging with just the right hand seemed more comfortable, faster, and more powerful than using both hands.
Caesar deflected the creature’s spear and attacked the eyes of the left head, which could be considered its weakness.
“Kraaaaaaah!”
But the left head only writhed in pain without changing its offensive stance.
It seemed the left head was merely parasitic to the right head.
‘Damn.’
Caesar tried to read the creature’s thoughts and attack route with psychometry.
However, the right head was swinging wildly without any thought, making it impossible to read its mind.
The only thing he could read was…
-I’ll eat you!
-I’ll eat you!
-I’ll eat you!
-I’ll eat your name!
Only its horrific desire to devour Caesar’s body and name.
Caesar struck away the tongue that came stabbing like a spear.
But the tongue flexibly wrapped around Caesar’s axe and pulled it.
“You damn bastard.”
Caesar swung Thunder to cut the tongue wrapped around the left head.
Phage, Phage, Phage!
The tongue was cut with a sharp single wind, but a spear flew through that gap.
Judging it impossible to block, Caesar dodged by jumping back.
The problem was the creature’s incredible agility, it had already reached the spot where Caesar was about to land, mouth wide open.
Caesar let out a bitter laugh at the absurdity.
Was this even a possible physical capability?
Caesar could now understand how the demon races felt when facing Barre.
How could they not be afraid with such a brutally strong and fierce creature leading the charge?
Caesar decided to counter before being sucked into its mouth.
He Reduced Thunder size and threw it.
The Thunder rode the Path of the Wind, flexibly flying to target the creature’s foot.
Ding!
As expected, the creature swept away Thunder with its spear.
Caesar used this opportunity to slip in from the right side where the creature had swung its spear, and swung his axe.
Thud!
But the creature pulled out its long tongue and wrapped it around Caesar’s axe.
By now, Caesar felt the creature might as well have three hands.
Caesar pulled his axe strongly, uprooting the tongue, and then stepped back.
But the ogre chased after Caesar like a mad dog.
Caesar glanced up at the sky.
There, Raven was standing with her eyes closed, chanting magic while gripping Whitey’s neck.
“Ravenâs power is depleting.”
The greatest weakness of one-man supporting magic was that once supporting magic was cast, Raven could not use any other magic. Of course, its power was devastating, but… In front of this absurd devilish ogre, it was barely just a match.
I already knew very well that the ogre was strong. Despite having thick muscles, it was incredibly flexible and agile. It could even push its muscle overload to the extreme by utilizing its bizarre physical regeneration ability to generate power.
Even an ordinary ogre was difficult to deal with, so Caesar didn’t know if he could handle an ogre that had also undergone devil transformation. He was just confronting it because he had no choice.
Caesar took a deep breath. Currently in a Berserk triple stack. If he switched to quadruple stack, he can endure about 3-4 minutes of aura. If he uses a 5-fold stack, his body won’t be able to withstand it.
‘How long have I been fighting?’
Jerry’s request for frontline fixation was 30 minutes. Depending on how long Caesar draws aggro, he’ll decide whether to use Berserk quadruple stack. Even if he somehow endures 30 minutes, how will he dodge the magic bombardment that will fall here?
Ultimately, there’s no way to leave the battlefield without killing this monster. Should he throw the dice again? Caesar used psychometry.
– I’ll eat you!
– I’ll eat you!
– I’ll eat you!
The creature was constantly extending its wide-open mouth, trying to devour Caesar like crazy. He couldn’t even imagine what would happen if he was eaten.
‘What method…’
Caesar glanced to the left head. The left head wasn’t looking at Caesar strangely but was continuously staring to the right. As if feeling some kind of ecstasy. Like a child standing in front of birthday cake candles, expecting something.
‘What’s this?’
Caesar changed the direction of his psychometry to the left.
– Finally…!
– Finally! Escaping this parasitic life!
– It was originally my body!
– Damn right side! Soon I, Idrahim, will take the body!
– I will also take the natural disposition!
Caesar finally realized what the left head was aiming for. The right side probably hasn’t noticed yet, but as the creature continues its fierce fight with Caesar, its muscles, nerves, and bones were being torn and destroyed, then regenerating. The left side was slowly eating the fragments of regenerating flesh without the right side noticing. As time passes, the left head’s possession would likely increase.
‘Then…?’
Caesar swung his axe. A fierce wind swept around, opening hundreds of wind paths. He grabbed one of the wind paths. When he scattered it with his axe, Thunder that had flown into the sky like a home run baseball came rushing towards Caesar. It was the 6th form of Path of the Wind, Steel Wind.
Sizzle!
Caesar struck the spear with all his might into the left side. The creature’s back opened wide, and Thunder accelerated, driving directly into its spine.
Thud!
Certainly, with the tough ogre body, even Thunder made of terra alloy couldn’t pierce through. However, the sharp axe tip was embedded enough in its spine.
Crackle!
“Aaaaaaah!”
The right head twisted its body and pulled out Thunder. Seizing that gap, Caesar plunged his axe deep into the right arm’s armpit. Bones were crushed, nerves destroyed. However, since Caesar’s attack also carried some risk, he couldn’t block the left fist striking his side.
“Ugh!”
Caesar was flung far away. Momentarily, he couldn’t breathe. Without Raven’s buff magic, his ribs would have pierced his lungs. Despite the sharp pain starting from his internal organs, Caesar kept his gaze fixed on the ogre. True to an ogre’s nature, it quickly healed its back and left arm with its bizarre physical regeneration ability. Eventually, the ogre charged.
“You are mine…!”
Crash!
It suddenly fell while running.
“Huh…?”
The ogre’s body began to twist strangely. Its right hand and right foot were moving independently. It kept falling like a child taking its first steps.
“Hey, left side. Something’s wrong with me. Suddenly my body…”
“I’m not the left side.”
The left head’s purple eyes deepened.
“I’m Idrahim. I’m the one who remembers the name my parents gave me! I’m the one who will go to the heavenly city!!!”
The spear in its left hand moved and stabbed into the right leg.
“Kaaaaaah!”
“Kaaaaaah!”
Both the left and right heads screamed simultaneously. However, the left hand more violently tore apart the right leg, destroying nerves, shattering bones, and crushing flesh. The left head laughed loudly.
“Now this body is mine…”
Thud!
Suddenly, the right hand moved and struck the left head. Its jaw was dislocated, rendering it unable to speak.
“Ugh…”
“Left sideeee!”
Caesar looked at the self-mutilating ogre with disbelief. Could things really be this easy? The creature was destroying and occupying its own body to claim it. The problem was that the right head was more dominant. The left head had no control over the mouth in the center.
Swoosh!
The long tongue from the center mouth wrapped around the left head.
“Ugh! Ugh!”
The left head began to be swallowed almost entirely. It was barely holding on with neck strength, but it seemed it wouldn’t last long.
“You’re the only one with a nameeee! You’re the only one who had a nameeee!”
“Ummmph!”
“Trying to go to the heavenly city aloneeee!”
Caesar held Thunder and the lefty in both hands. And took a deep breath. It was painful to inhale deeply with broken ribs, but it was okay. They would break anyway.
Caesar roared.
“Uriaaaaaaah!”
Berserk quadruple stack.
His body swelled even more intensely, his eyes bloodshot. By now, he was familiar with pain that would tear apart each cell.
Caesar stepped on his taut, burning legs and flew. And swung both axes. Axes flying towards the two brothers fighting to claim each other’s body.
“Huh?”
Thud!
Caesar’s axes almost simultaneously cut the necks of the right and left heads.
Whoooosh!
Blood gushed hotly from the severed necks, pouring like rain. As the heads were cut off, the body collapsed. But as expected, was the flesh of a devil ogre different? The two arms and legs groped around searching for the severed heads, wandering here and there. The sight was incredibly grotesque.
The left and right heads stared at each other, moving their mouths.
Caesar used psychometry.
– Ah… No.
– I don’t even have a name…
– I don’t have my name…
– I can’t die like this.
– It was originally my body.
– It was my body…! It was my body…!
Caesar brought down the axes in his hands.
Chop!
The two heads were crushed, and the body searching for the heads stopped.
A surge of joy at finally killing this detestable creature swept over him, but Caesar didn’t let his guard down. This was a battlefield. Whenever emotions can’t be controlled, a surprise attack always follows.
Caesar looked around. The Orcs stopped, stunned, upon seeing the dead ogre.
“The king is dead.”
“…Then who is the king?”
They suddenly looked at Caesar.
“Whoever kills the one who killed the king will become the king.”
The Orcs’ eyes turned bloodshot.
“I will become the kingggg!”
The Orcs rushed madly.
Caesar spat out the blood in his mouth.
“These damned creatures.”
Caesar lowered Berserk to 1 stack. Even so, Caesar’s body was not in good shape. Every joint aches from the duel with the Twin-Head Ogre, and his stamina was nearly depleted.
Caesar wiped his blood-slicked palm on his clothes and grabbed the axe again. When had he ever entered a war in optimal condition? More often, he had been standing at the forefront, getting hurt, breaking, and struggling to survive somehow in painful situations.
In fact, he was more familiar with being in such a pinch.
“Come onnnnn!”
Caesar roared at the approaching Orcs.
At that moment, he heard a horse approaching from behind.
Thump!
A headless goblin fell at Caesar’s feet. Glancing back, he saw Messio on a white horse, approaching with a long halberd.
“Lord Caesar! Reinforcements have arrived!”
Damn horse-riding bastard!
I love you!
