The well-built young man called out to Tenma.

“You saved us. Are you in the same line of work? What were you doing in the grass thicket?”

“No, I was just relieving myself. I’m Tenma. And you are?”

Tenma told a lie.

“I’m Alf. The Archer up there is Leaf. The one collecting proof of monster subjugation on the other side is Mario. We’re Adventurers. We’re escorting a merchant as per a request. Are you an Adventurer too?”

The young man who introduced himself as Alf observed Tenma cautiously. The woman called Leaf was also glaring at Tenma with an arrow knocked.

Tenma was surprised that there were people besides Alf and Leaf, and he recognized the limitations of Appraisal once again.

“I’m… a traveler. I was walking, planning to go over there.”

“To Gomena? So we have the same destination. We’re heading there too. If you’d like, we could go together. That is, if you agree to my request. What do you say?”

Alf called for Mario.

“I’m called Tenma. Likewise, pleased to meet you.”

“Mr. Tenma, why are you going to Gomena?”

“Looking for work.”

“You seem to be dressed rather unusually.”

“Where I come from, everyone dresses like this.”

“You also seem to have a fine weapon.”

“It’s just borrowed.”

“Lastly, why are you accompanying us?”
