Chapter 12: First Time in Another World Part 1
While chanting Appraisal, he mowed down the weeds with his sword. Tenma was amazed at the sharpness of the blade.
He was cutting them down. Each swing of the sword shortened the grass. But there was no resistance. It felt like cutting through air, with no sensation of actually cutting something.
‘Someone once said “a blade that cuts too well makes you uneasy,” and that’s really true.’
While walking, he looked up at the sky. The sun was leaning to the left.
“In Japan, it would be around 3 PM. I’d like to get out of here soon.”
Saying that, he quickened his pace.
The scent of the wind changed, and the sound of metal clashing reached Tenma’s ears. Tenma looked around.
About 50 meters ahead was a horse-drawn cart. People were fighting something around it. Green heads could be seen above the grass.
Tenma crouched down and approached without making a sound.
When he got within 10 meters, he uttered Appraisal.
Two humans. Profession: both Adventurers.Â
Monsters: seven Goblins.Â
One horse.Â
A four-wheeled horse-drawn cart with a canopy—status: normal.
The Appraisal results only revealed race and profession.
Tenma hesitated. Should he help or not?
If he helped, should he use weapons? Or Magic?
After much deliberation, Tenma made up his mind and circled behind the rightmost Goblin.
“I’m coming to assist!”
He shouted while leaping out from the grass thicket, and attacked the Goblin from behind.
He fell it with a diagonal slash, then, in the confusion of Tenma’s appearance, he cut down three more Goblins with sweeping strokes. He turned around, he mowed down the torso of a Goblin charging toward him. Tenma checked his surroundings. The last one was cut down by the swordsman.
Tenma was once again astounded by the sharpness of the Magic Iron sword. Thinking he’d won because of the weapon’s performance rather than his sword skills, he stared at the blade. A well-built young man called out to Tenma as he was doing this.
